Adults in Rhode Island who are in recovery from addiction and ready to commit to a steady work schedule. No woodworking experience is needed.
What trainees learn
Shop safety with hand tools and power tools
Measuring, milling, joinery, and finishing
Taking a piece from plan to finished product
Workplace habits: showing up, teamwork, quality, and pride in the work
[To do: confirm the curriculum, program length, and weekly hours.]
How it works
Trainees work alongside experienced woodworkers, starting with simple pieces and moving to more complex builds as their skills grow. The products they make go straight into our shop, so their work is real from day one.
